We admit Kareena Kapoor is sexy as hell. And that God really did do us a favour by creating her. But we just couldn. It is a universal truth that a woman in possession of a less than perfect figure will most likely be in pursuit of something that will make her look or feel better. How many women can say that they are 100% happy with the way they look? There are but a few. Celebrities, in whom many young women see perfection, are just normal women at the end of the day, regardless of their millions. They have insecurities that reflect the very essence of being a woman in this era of fashion. Smaller or larger busts, longer legs, thinner ankles, thicker hair, fuller lips, neater noses; the quest for more - or less - is omnipresent.
We have heels to give us height; belts to give us waists, “miracle knickers” to shrink our behinds and mascara to improve the length of our lashes. America, the land of size zero, has spread its trend has spread viciously to the East, from the skeletal likes of Victoria Beckham to the very (supposedly) curvaceous Kareena Kapoor. With Bollywood’s seeming adoption of the fad, are we too see this debate grow ever stronger?
